Although That’s Natural’s products are primarily CBD, there are many other cannabinoids within these full spectrum products. Cannabichromene (CBC) is one of the more prominent cannabinoids, aside from CBD. So what does CBC do, and what is its purpose?
This article explains five of the main issues and health benefits of CBC.
1) CBC encourages brain growth
Myth: Your brain stops developing after a certain age. Neurogenesis is the process of making cells that are responsible for memory and learning. When this process stops, it is referred to as dementia and/or Alzheimer’s Disease. This study from 2013 suggests that CBC may stimulate neurogenesis. The conclusion of the study? CBC increased the viability of certain cells, and improved their function.
2) CBC for Depression
Research has shown that CBD is commonly thought of as an anti-depressant, but CBC certainly plays its role in this area as well. The article from above states that, “Using rodent models, researchers from the University of Mississippi found that rats treated with CBC performed significantly better on stress tests. Chronic stress is considered one of the primary trigger factors for depression. The better you can adapt from stress, the less likely you are to experience depression.”
3) CBC has anti-inflammatory properties
Inflammation can be traced back to the root issue of many diseases/conditions. Again, CBD is often given the credit for the anti-inflammatory properties within cannabis, but CBC deserves credit as well. A 2010 study found that CBC decreased inflammation by itself, but that its impact is amplified when combined with other cannabinoids.
4) CBC for pain
A 2011 study found that CBC, and CBD, stimulated certain pain-relieving networks within animal models that were studied. Again, as most research suggests, when combined the effect is much stronger. By itself, CBC has mild analgesic properties.
5) CBC is antibacterial and antifungal
This study from the early 1980’s showed that CBC actually helped put the E. Coli and Staph to rest. This study actually showed that CBC and other cannabinoids were just as effective as Vancomycin against MRSA.
While it is true that CBC has beneficial impacts by itself, research overwhelmingly supports the combination of cannabinoids and terpenes together. They work synergistically and enhance the effect of each other.
