Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA) is another prominent cannabinoid in That’s Natural products. CBDA is what converts to CBD in the presence of heat. So, it makes sense that in full spectrum, CBD products, there could be large amounts of CBDA. So, what are the benefits of CBDA?
This study from the British Journal of Pharmacology shows that CBDA may be very useful as an anti-nausea and anti-emetic property. This study concludes that: “Compared with cannabidiol, CBDA displays significantly greater potency at inhibiting vomiting in shrews and nausea in rats, and at enhancing 5-HT1A receptor activation, an action that accounts for its ability to attenuate conditioned gaping in rats. Consequently, CBDA shows promise as a treatment for nausea and vomiting, including anticipatory nausea for which no specific therapy is currently available.”
This article from the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics describes how CBDA may serve as an Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. The article says, “Thus, it was suggested that the carboxylic acid moiety in CBDA is a key determinant for the inhibition. Furthermore, the crude extract of cannabis containing mainly CBDA was shown to have a selective inhibitory effect on COX-2. Taken together, these lines of evidence in this study suggest that naturally occurring CBDA in cannabis is a selective inhibitor for COX-2.”
So, how does that impact the person? The article continues by saying, “On the other hand, COX-2 is expressed by cells that are involved in inflammation and has emerged as the isoform primarily responsible for the synthesis of prostanoids involved in acute and chronic inflammatory states of pathological processes. Classical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and diflunisal, which are grouped into the salicylate derivatives of NSAIDs, were shown to inhibit both COX-1 and COX-2 activities”.
So, CBDA has shown evidence to not only help reduce nausea and vomiting, but also shown to help reduce inflammation/arthritis.

That’s Natural products are considered to be full spectrum meaning they contain cannabinoids and terpenes from the whole plant. Every mammal has an endocannabinoid system, which is fueled by these cannabinoids and terpenes. The combination of these compounds help to provide what is known as the entourage effect. Here you can listen to Dr. David Allen explain how the endocannabinoid system contributes to how our immune system and nervous system function. By providing pure, potent, and trusted products, That’s Natural continues to strive to meet our customer’s needs – something we have been doing for twelve years!
