National Police Ask Canadian Government To Put off its Plan to Legalize Marijuana by Next Summer

Canada’s police services have put forward their concerns regarding the legalization of marijuana. They said that there was literally no chance of them enforcing new laws for countrywide legalized marijuana by the summer of 2018.

On Tuesday, representatives from different police forces are going to appear before a Parliament health committee. The session of parliament committee will be held in the backdrop of the government’s decision to legalize marijuana all across Canada by July 1, 2018.

Representatives from the Ontario Provincial Police, Saskatoon Police Service and the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police unanimously stated that they want the Canadian government to review their decision to allow people to grow marijuana at home. They are of the thought that it will make access of marijuana to youngsters easier, making it extremely difficult for law- enforcement agencies to check the substance abuse of marijuana.

Rick Barnum, Deputy Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police, says organized crimes will get the sustenance of six months to a year to thrive if the government doesn’t put off its plan to legalize marijuana by next summer.
