Massive Amnesia Haze Auto Buds for Masshole’s First Grow:
Growing marijuana involves a lot of strategic decisions. From the moment growers choose the strain up until harvest day, decisions are endless. In Masshole’s case, the particular strain was not a problem. However, it was the perpetual want to upgrade the situation in the grow room that got the best of him.
Good thing the ILGM community was behind him through the ordeal. With their inputs and suggestions, the whole grow journey had a happy ending. Starting with nothing, this novice grower ended up with everything instead.
Amnesia Haze Auto
When there is a long day ahead, Amnesia Haze helps ease the hardships of the day. It starts with an earthy and citrusy flavor that transcends into an uplifting, energetic buzz lasting for extended hours. Thanks to its South Asian and Jamaican landrace lineage, Amnesia Haze won the Cannabis Cup twice.

It took only two days for the two Amnesia Haze autos to break the surface. Masshole used Jiffy peat pots to start the seeds after a 24-hour water soak.
Then, on day five, their new home became the 3-gallon fabric pots.
Once they hit the seven-day mark, Masshole started them on:
- Advanced Nutrients Micro
- Advanced Nutrients Grow
- Advanced Nutrients Bloom
All are given at the recommended feed mix ratio found in the nutrient calculator. Then, every other day, each plant receives 32 ounces of tea or water.
During the 18th day, Masshole decided to begin the plants’ Low-Stress Training (LST). By continually bending the dominant stem down and away from the light, it helps produce colas and keep the plants in good shape. The form is maintained using ribbons, shoelaces, soft braid twines, etc.
In under 12 days, the smaller growth eventually caught up in size.
Flowering

The Amnesia Haze seeds that Masshole bought are feminized, auto-flowering seeds. A month in vegetation gave them the chance to develop at least ten colas per plant. On these colas are white pistils which are very clear and white which signals the beginning of flowering.

Now that the plants are getting bigger, Masshole renovated the area in such a way that it would maximize the yield. Starting off with the lights, the initial set-up is a cube-type arrangement. Last minute, he decided against it and went with a line formation instead.
As for the pots, he placed them on a saucer that tilts slightly forward. On these saucers are drip hoses that would capture the run off samples.

Day 34 for the Amnesia Hazes and the white pistils on top are starting to resemble buds. Some are starting to form on the lower branches as well.

Buds are now coming up as milky white and would not take that long to finish. However, as it turned out to be, some things needed more adjustments in the tent to make it more functional.
Masshole added some Do-It-Yourself gravity fed drip irrigation. It will allow the feeding and watering to automate even if the grower is away. Not to mention, it evens out the distribution of nutrients among the plant. The only thing missing is a garden hose timer to fully automate the system.

Amber hairs sticking out of calyxes alarm Massholes. This worries him and is afraid that the feminized, auto-flowering Amnesia Haze plants are turning out male.
An aptly named grower, AmnesiaHaze, assures that this is nothing to be worried about. “Those pistils you see that are orange. The end of the pistil that connects to the calyx means it’s a girl.”

Now that everything is back to being peaceful, more upgrades are coming. A third 300-watts LED lights started everything. Then, a bracket made from spare drop ceiling grid parts simplify the hanging and adjusting of the lights. Masshole’s next target is to increase the current size of the grow table. That way, the plants would be in four rows instead of two.

The buds on the Amnesia Haze plants are growing along nicely. Milky white pistils are still dominating the buds and amber hairs are yet to come. At the moment, the temperature is at 77°F.
