When growing cannabis outdoors, the sun offers plenty of advantages compared to growing indoors. If you live in an ideal climate like in California, take advantage of the sun and grow your own cannabis outdoors.
This approach to cultivating cannabis offers several benefits:
- Outdoor cannabis grows save energy. Think of the amount of electricity you save when you harness the power of the sun! It gives full-spectrum natural light which is evenly distributed throughout the plants.
- Outdoor cannabis are healthier. Cannabis which are grown outdoors receive more than just the free, even amount of sunlight. They are also exposed to outdoor air which provides the best circulation to prevent molds and help build strong branches.
- Outdoor cannabis are more potent and produce more buds. In terms of production, even a carefully cultivated indoor plant cannot compare to a healthy outdoor plant. The longer growth cycle of outdoor cannabis means more time for development.
- Outdoor grows cost less. No longer do you have to pool in resources for a simple indoor setup which will need lighting, grow media, nutrients, ventilation, and so on! All you will need are some seeds, healthy soil, some organic fertilizer and probably some form of pest control.

With this grow, the seeds were germinated in wet paper towels and placed in 4-inch pots. They are now 2 weeks old from breaking soil. Right now, they’re in cheap organic soil. From left to right, these are the Money Maker, Chocolate Kush, and Critical Impact cannabis.
June 19th
Transplanted them into 1-gallon pots and they are really starting to take off. Here are the three plants in the same order: Money Maker, Chocolate Kush, and Critical Impact.
June 27th
Started feeding them with 1mL Rapid Start, 1mL Floralicious,2 teaspoons Big Bloom and 1 teaspoon of Grow Big. In a couple more days, they will be transplanted into their final homes. That’s all there is for now.
Here they are and they look considerably taller than the last update.
July 2nd
Transplanted these plants about 4 days ago and they are loving it! The one in the white bucket will be placed straight into the ground. These photos will show you how well they’re doing post-transplant. They are uploaded in the same order.
July 6th
Been almost a week since the last update. Here they are in their final homes. They’re out in the woods and they’ve been there for 4 days now. Checked on them today and no problems at all. They look healthy and all signs point to a monstrous flowering stage!

Chocolate Kush
Critical Impact
July 12th
Took the Critical Impact and tried something new. Topped her once and then super-cropped her a little bit after a few days. Just did the upper part of the plant.
July 17th
The girls are 49 days old today. They’ve been fed once a week. They’re getting 3 teaspoons of Grow Big, ¼ teaspoon Open Sesame, 1mL Rapid Start, and 1mL Floralicious. Started doing some LST to open up the middle of the plants and get the sun to hit the lower branches.
July 22nd
Went ahead and fed the babies today and found some problems. It looks like they have magnesium deficiency. The good news is they have started to show signs of sex!
July 23rd
Went out to take some more photos to show their first signs of sex. Here they are at 55 days old from seed.
