Growing Borderline XTRM Strain

Growing Borderline XTRM Strain

The Borderline XTRM cannabis is infamous for its crazy, powerful effects with THC levels measuring about 25%. A high from this cannabis strain starts as a spacey head rush which will leave you introspective and distant, unable to focus on anything. This is accompanied by a slowly-building heavy stone.

Because of these potent effects, the Borderline XTRM buds are recommended for people suffering from insomnia, chronic pain, migraines, depression, and muscle spasms.

This plant has a flowering period of 7 to 9 weeks and can yield 750 grams per square meter indoors and 900 grams per square meter outdoors. It doesn’t grow taller than 1 meter when inside a. This trait makes it ideal for indoor cultivation.

This grow journal has the following setup:

  • Lights: 200W HID equivalent to LED panel
  • Tent: Secret Jardin 60cm x 60cm x 190cm
  • Extraction/intake/filter: RAM fan 100mm for extraction and a VENTS 150mm fan
  • Pot and medium: 26L Dirt Pot filled with Gold Label Special Mix (about 15L), then some rinsed perlite (8L) and the rest with old soil
  • Heating: 2 x 45W tubular heaters controlled by a device so there’s consistent temperature

The seed was germinated in soil and sprouted on the 8th of this month. The lights were placed 120cm away from the top of the plant but it went lanky so it was slowly moved closer to 70cm.

January 23rd

Here’s a little update. It was a slow growth but in the last few days, everything’s going pretty well. She looks very different from a week ago.

January 30th

She’s growing wide and strong. Right after being photographed, she was topped between the 4th pair of leaves.

The last huge investment in this grow is the new LED panel. It’s got a boost switch for 8x CREE LEDs for taking photos under white light. This new panel has a core coverage of 3 x 3 so it’s sort of overkill for the setup but it should work wonderfully for bigger grows in the future.

Look at her leaves grow 2 weeks after topping. She’ll grow a bit more and then LST will start.

February 20th

She has weird genetics. It’s ok that she’s a bit lacking in the height department but she seems to be growing rather slowly.

After some defoliation and veg nutes, this is what she looks like now.

veg nutes

As you can see, flowers are already starting to appear. Some branches will be tied down in a couple of days to produce some massive colas.

March 2nd

She tolerated the LST pretty well. This photo was taken 24 hours after being tied down.

Start of Week 4 of flowering!

Removed an extra 30 minutes from the light schedule so now it’s about 11 hours of light per day. She’s looking good. She needs some defoliation later today too.

Tomorrow marks the first day of the plant’s 6th week in the flowering stage. She’s looking frostier with every passing week.

April 3rd

Just a little update on the 7th week of flowering. There’s not a lot of difference compared to the previous pictures. Here, you can see more trichomes and more amber hairs.

The trichomes were weird. Even on the buds they’re displaying all kinds of colors. Right after taking these pictures, she was started on her final flush.

She could have used some more defoliation at this point but the smell is already very strong.

April 17th

And these buds are entering Week 10 of flowering!

Week 10 Week 10

It’s been almost 2 weeks since the last feed and 1 week since the latest flush.

And this update would not be complete without these trichome pictures.
