Fate has unveiled an ironic state of affairs. As it happens, a person from President Trump’s cabinet has been found linked to the legal cannabis industry. If you recall, Trump’s administration has, at least after the current President took charge of his presidency, been venomous towards the growth of the cannabis industry.
The person caught with the ties is none other than the WWE legend Shane McMahon, along with Linda McMahon, who currently runs the Small Business Administration of the US. The investment was made into a company that is in charge of manufacturing pre-fabricated modules which are required to grow cannabis.
As per the documents of the court, a $500,000 investment was made by McMahon into EviroGrow, a company based in Connecticut. It is a startup which provides these modules to states with legal adult-use and medical marijuana. Currently, there are around 29 states including the District of Columbia that have legalized medical cannabis. Eight of these 29 states also enjoy the recreational use of cannabis.

The involvement of the WWE giant with the cannabis company was revealed recently when he went on to file a lawsuit. His claim was that he had been deceived by the owner of this company, and that he was not informed about the true nature of the business.
EviroGrow started its operations back in 2012. Joseph Palmieri was the guy who formed the company. He was also the owner of an environmental cleanup company called the Connecticut Tank Removal. The role of McMahon in EviroGrow was to market the cannabis modules to potential customers. His interest, however, soon faded after finding out the infrastructure of the cannabis company.
What made matters worse was the fact that after traveling to Colorado to see the manufacturing plant of the company that he so keenly invested in, the only thing he found was bare land. The plant did not exist. One of the sources of McMahon’s interest were interviewed on this matter. This is what it had to say,
“He thought it was going to be a big boom and make a lot of money,”

After finding out this whole thing was a hoax, McMahon wanted his entire investment back. Unfortunately, but obviously, he was refused. This led him to file a lawsuit against Palmeri. The lawsuit is underway right now, and Palmeri still stands by his statement that his company is legit. His own words were,
“EnviroGrow is a viable company,”
Dan Williams—the newly appointed CEO of EviroGrow—stands by Palmeri’s words. He even said that orders are already in place for the cannabis module distribution.
It was nothing but a surprising turn of events as to how a member of Trump’s cabinet—known for being against legal cannabis—had gotten involved in the cannabis industry. How other people like Jeff Sessions feel about cannabis is no secret either. In a nutshell, we can say that regardless of what the Trump Administration believes, there can always be a rebel amongst them. This revealed case may just be the beginning.
