Indoor Grow with Multiple Strains

Indoor Grow with Multiple Strains

Growers who want to produce different marijuana strains together rely on indoor methods to control multiple variables for a successful cultivation.

But why grow many strains at once?

Multiple strains grows offer more variety of strains after the harvest. Obviously, the desired will mean more buds of different types and different effects to suit one’s mood. Different strains with different physical characteristics also make it easier to maximize the grow space.

However, when different strains grow together, it may be more difficult for the grower to allot time and effort to care for plants with different needs. Growers are also more likely to run into space and height issues. Even the harvest may prove troublesome as some plants may have shorter or longer flowering periods leading to inconveniently different harvest times.

Before choosing which strains together, some of the factors you have to consider are: strain characteristics, time to harvest, the grow space’s ability to accommodate each plant, and powerful lights that can give plants equal light.

This grow journal takes a look at growing different strains indoors.

This seed isn’t feminized and it has a flowering time of 8 weeks.

The germination jar worked really well. The Jungle Wreck popped out on the 3rd day. Here she is with her seed cap on.

Another seed, the Train Wreck, also popped.

The White Rhino also popped out today. Three different strains in this grow so far.

Three different strains

The White Rhino has a normal photoperiod with a flowering time of 56 to 70 days.

Here’s an update on the Train Wreck. She’s still growing well. So far, she hasn’t had any nutes and is just being misted every day with pure water.

Got some new photos of the girls.

Up first is the Train Wreck. She’s been topped today. This should produce 4 colas to soak up the light intensity and produce bigger buds.

Here’s a new photo of the newly-sprouted White Rhino.

Before transferring to the large tent, the plants will stay in the smaller tent which measures 2’ x 2’ x 6’. It was just put together but they’ll stay here from germ to 4   or 6 weeks. Then they’ll move to the larger tent. Light is provided by 3W LED light.

The Purple Bud popped today but she looks weaker than her older sisters. She has a small root, and the cap shell fell off even if she isn’t even an inch long. Her germination took 18 days!

Here’s a photo of the three earlier seeds. Had to adjust lighting to prevent stretching.

The Train Wreck is going along just fine. She just out some new growth today.

And the White Rhino is the smallest among the older girls.

Going back to the Purple Bud, she hasn’t really popped. Something seems wrong. Named her Peewee.

Here are the three plants: Purple Bud, Train Wreck, and White Rhino. The Jungle Wreck was taken out of the photo. The Purple Bud, named Peewee finally seems to be growing.

September 8th

Update time with the girls. The Train Wreck is obviously the most advanced when it comes to development. She has the most number of leaves and is looking a healthy shade of green.

White Rhino comes as a far second. Nothing special about her but she’s coming along fine.
