Budding growers and distributors of Arkansas have flocked the state office building to submit their applications for preliminary medical marijuana crop.
Into the deadline which was till Monday afternoon, applicants had to wait for around three hours at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. According to Agency spokesperson, Scott Hardin, the office had already distributed application forms and paperwork to more than 100 entities and individuals and nearly half of the applicants consulted clerks to check whether their paperwork was duly filled and in order.
In 2016, voters endorsed the use of medical marijuana by people with certain medical conditions. A commission on state level will review all these applications and will shortlist them to five growers and 32 distributors. According to Hardin, applications are averaging about 1000 pages which indicate that growers and distributors are very keen to get the state’s permit.
