Green Crack got its name from the celebrity Snoop Dogg. However, it’s also known as Green Cush, or simply Cush, among shroomers who prefer not to reference cocaine and perpetuate a negative image of cannabis.
Don’t underestimate this cannabis strain. Its name may not be as flashy as the AK-47 or as edgy as the Purple Haze but this is one of the few pure cannabis strains on the market. Few types of marijuana can compare to this plant’s invigorating mental buzz that can keep you energized throughout the day.
It’s a relatively easy to grow cannabis strain, spending only an average of 7 to 9 weeks in the flowering stage. The most common problem in growing this plant is the availability of space in an indoor grow area because it is known to stretch upwards by up to 2 meters.
This grow journal chronicles growing Green Crack in a DWC indoor Hydro System.

After moving to a state where growing Cannabis isn’t a big issue, anyone would be compelled to grow safe, quality herb.
The germination was done by soaking the seeds in distilled water overnight then planting directly into starter plugs derived from peat moss. Seeds were 6mm deep with a piece of the plug material placed over the hole. The plugs were then placed in net pots.
Hydroton filled the gaps between the plugs and the pots. The net pots were plopped into solo cups and placed on top of a heating pad set on low in a dark environment. Within 48 hours, all 4 seeds popped up.
After 72 hours, the net pots were taken out and placed in the DWC hydro system with a 1/8 strength solution of RX Green Grow. By keeping the water level just below the pots, the roots stretched into the solution after just 5 days.

It’s only been a couple of days since the seedlings popped out but they’re already 2 inches tall.

In 11 days, the leggy girls have turned into “fat bottom” girls and have started to spread. The height has slowed down but the node activity near the top is a good indicator of where it will branch out. These plants are promising one amazing harvest.
Unfortunately, one of the sisters was taken out today. It was a runt and the fan leaves never got near the size of its siblings,

The girls are around 13cm now and doing well. The smell of Green Crack comes out early so don’t kid yourself with attempting a stealth grow and a cheap filtration system with this strain. They should be ready for flower by the end of next week.
An EC/PPM meter makes things easier and watching the girls eat and drink digitally is a nerdy science pleasure. After the PH meter came in, it was used to check the water and General Hydroponics pH drops were used on the water supply.
So far, the roots are filling the entire 3-gallon basin and are a lovely white color. So far, no signs of anything catastrophic about to happen.
Here are some photos after they had an air bath and a fresh solution change.
The 4-inch distance between the light and the plants is not optimal but the MARS Hydro 45 Reflector won’t burn the plants. pH is a little low at 4.5.
February 25th
Today is the day when the plants go into flower! The flip to 12/12 light cycle is a go!

On their third day of flower, the ladies are still going strong. You can see they are more than three times the height of this lighter.
March 10th
Two plants will do better in the box so one of the girls found a new home. The remaining two have gotten along great and have decided to find a good balanced state.
